We collect the information you provide when creating an account (name, email address) and the pet health data you enter into the app (pet profiles, health records, vet details, weight history, care instructions, and photos where uploaded).
Your data is used solely to provide the HeyOtis service — displaying your pet's health information, enabling AI chat responses personalised to your pet, and sharing care information with carers you choose to invite.
When you use the Hey Otis chat feature, your pet's profile information is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate personalised responses. No personally identifiable information about you (such as your name or email) is shared with Anthropic — only your pet's health details necessary to answer your question.
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider. Our web app and carer-sharing pages are hosted via Netlify. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not sell your data to third parties.

If you generate a carer link, the pet information you choose to include (check-in logs, vet details, emergency contacts) is shared with whoever you send that link to. You control what is shared and can revoke a carer link at any time. We may also share data if required by law.
Some of our service providers (including Anthropic and Supabase) may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where this occurs, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses to ensure your data remains protected to UK GDPR standards.
We process your data on the basis of your consent, given when you create an account, and our legitimate interest in providing and improving the HeyOtis service.
We retain your data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, your personal data and pet records are permanently and immediately removed from our systems, except where we are required to retain certain records by law.
